Sam Budrovich began the company in 1945. Shortly after trading his mule for a grading tractor to use on the family farm, Sam was being hired by friends and neighbors alike to level land and dig ditches. With the help of his wife and son Sam the business was off and running.

The steady growth of the family business mirrored the construction boom of the 1950's following World War II. In the 1960's having purchased one of the first large cranes in the St. Louis market, Budrovich continued to be the leader in this ever-expanding market by offering the most modern and productive equipment available at the time.
